You will receive a signed certificate incorporating pictures as proof of completion. You will also receive a DVD of the day and your fire resistant underwear for use on the day. NOTE - If due to lack of numbers you are unable to complete any aspect of the course you will be asked to come back on another course to finish before you will be given certification of completion.

The Linage of the London stunt school fire course

 

Mr. Timothy Condren travelled to the Malibu Stunt School, Hollywood California in 1965 and trained under the guidance of Mr. Paul Stader (Stunt Director “Earthquake”, “ Posideon Adventure” “Towering Inverno”. Etc.) Then Tim was inducted into The Hollywood Stuntman’s Hall of Fame 1986 Hollywood, California, USA, by Yakima Canutt, (Stunt Director) “Ben Hur” “El Cid, Etc. President. John Hagner.

Tim taught Alasdair Monteith (Head coach & Director of The LSS) in 2002 since then we have up dated certain techniques due to advances in technology, but the basics are fundamentally the same. Alasdair Monteith has personally coordinated over 67 fire stunts. (April 2010)

 

On this course we will cover the following:

Accelerants different types, pros & cons.

Preparation of the fire costume

Types of insulation, conduction

Performance of a skin burn

Performance of a half burn 

Health and safety 

Risk Assessment Preparation for the stunt.

Learn how to dress for the stunt. Includes being dressed and dressing another. 

How to set up the stunt and be put out and safely putting out another stunt performer.

 

Then you will perform a half burn yourself and the help co-ordinate a  burn and a skin burn. This will be filmed and photographed for you to use in your portfolio.

 

The course date is 3rd 4th & 5th September 2010

Cost: £600 pound sterling
