Ladies and gentleman, girls and boys,

Film Combat Course 2013

This course is an introduction to film combat. As an actor or stunt person it will give you an extra string to your bow. For stunt people this is your bread and butter course, teaching you how to incorporate a little acting and dialogue into the action. This turns athletes into action performers. For actors learning how to be convincing in your violence, we will give you more of an arsenal of tricks to use at auditions. You will be taught a choreographed fight with unarmed combat.

In this course we will be including some wire work, this will take the form of a jerk back to sell a heavy impact from a baseball bat and a heavy kick.

The course will be led by Alasdair Monteith who is an independent fight director. Alasdair is an action choreographer, gymnast and martial artist. His music video credits include those for: McFly, Milburn, The Paddingtons, Boy Kill Boy, Xavier and Les Rythmes Digitales. His credits as a fight director include: The Magic Carpet, Coriolanus, Monkey (Young Vic), Romeo and Juliet and The Paul O'Grady Show. As a martial arts choreographer he has coached Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé Knowles (for Pepsi), Aidan Gillan (in Shanghai Knights) and was the sword choreographer for Tomb Raider. He has appeared on Masters of Combat (BBC), teaches gymnastics and runs a full-time martial arts gym. Alasdair is two time world champion in Chin Woo Wushu

The Course will be filmed and edited for your personal use and your show-reel (additional cost for show-reel editing).
